It is exciting to discuss about the HTC HD mini’s future, as it’s, if not a mixed bag, not something we have come to expect to see from HTC. Usually it is fairly easy to categorize HTC-branded handsets by functionality or price. However, in the case with the HTC HD mini, the only thing that makes its clear is the price will be cheaper than the HTC HD2, which is mean that it is not a flagship solution, yet even specification-wise it is a tad less sophisticated than the HTC Diamond 2. At the same time, it boasts a more capable platform, more pocket-friendly and a new UI version.
The HTC HD mini is set to hit the shelves in April, and while there is no further information on its pricing yet, we believe that the retail price will range between 600-800 USD without a contract. On balance, it is more or less in one league with the HTC Diamond 2, yet the HTC HD mini is not looking to take its place, nor does it pose a threat to the HTC HD2, despite its codename being derived from the latter.
